Chief Executive Director
Hanya Bluestone, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and forensic psychologist who has run a successful private practice for over ten years. She earned her A.B. in psychology at Harvard University in 1989 and completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Alliant International University in Fresno, California. Throughout her career, Dr. Bluestone has balanced her love for providing behavioral health treatments with her keen interest in forensic evaluation and advising the court about mental health issues. Dr. Bluestone has directed mental health programs in residential treatment and correctional settings. She has taught Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Forensic Psychology courses at Assumption College and Alliant International University and currently serves as an Affiliate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Dr. Bluestone is passionate about finding better tools to help her clients and is currently learning how to integrate hypnosis and EMDR to improve well-being in both children and adults.
Director of Clinical Services
Hayden Duggan, Ed.D. graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University. He earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology in Public Practice from the Harvard School of Education in 1977. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and forensic psychologist in Massachusetts. Dr. Duggan has authored two books on crisis intervention and empathy. He is the founder of the On-Site Academy, a residential trauma treatment and training program for public safety personnel. He has served as a Deputy Fire Chief for the Town of Hubbardston, an EMT-I for the Barre Rescue Squad, and a Chief Psychologist for the Boston police and Boston EMS. He has held positions at Harvard Medical School, McLean Hospital, the Judge Baker Center and the Devereux Center. Dr. Duggan has extensive experience evaluating and treating adolescents, adults and families. He specializes in trauma, fire-setting, crisis intervention, substance abuse treatment and relationship issues in families of emergency service providers. Dr. Duggan is an instructor for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and an adjunct professor at Anna Maria College. Best of all, Dr. Duggan is caring, down to earth and easy to talk to. He loves helping others to overcome obstacles and achieve greater well-being.
Lauren Duffy, M. A., LMHC, earned her B.S. in psychology and Spanish for the Professions at Worcester State College. She received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College in 2013. Lauren has completed clinical training at the Youth Making a Difference Program at YOU Inc. and the Hector Reyes House, a substance abuse treatment program for Latino men. Lauren is trained in trauma-focused treatment and EMDR. She emphasizes evidence-based treatments to help her clients achieve their goals and strengthen connections.
Ana Paula Barbi, M.A., LMHC, graduated from the Counseling Psychology Program at Assumption College in 2014. She is trained in EMDR and other empirically-based treatments with individuals, families and groups. Ana is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. She is a talented multi-cultural communicator and certified interpreter. Ana is passionate about working with clients from a variety of cultures, individual backgrounds and age groups. Originally trained as a nutritionist in Brazil, Ana also looks forward to helping her clients experience greater well-being through mindfulness meditation, nutritional counseling and creative outlets such as art, music and Flamenco dancing.
Scott Mentzer, M.A., LMHC, completed his graduate training at Framingham State College in 2014 while working as a Shrewsbury Police Officer. Scott has served on the Critical Incident Stress Management Team and provided advanced trauma and substance abuse treatment to emergency first responders and veterans at the Onsite Academy in Westminster. He is trained in EMDR and offers intensive EMDR treatment weekends at Labyrinth for individuals and couples. Scott connects well with children and adults and knows how to help his clients heal quickly from traumatic experiences so they can be fully present in their lives.
Rachel Anne Carroll, M.A., LMHC, studied neuroscience, sociology and psychology while earning her BA at Framingham State College. In 2013, she completed her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology at Assumption College, with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Rachel is an experienced CBT and applied behavioral therapist who has worked effectively with children with ADHD and autism-spectrum disorders and adults who are struggling with substance abuse problems. Rachel is a seasoned public speaker who has facilitated therapy groups, college orientations, and team-oriented activities. She is friendly and connects well with both children and adults. With her background in competitive gymnastics, Rachel hopes to teach her clients strategies to maintain both physical and emotional well-being.
Doreen Scannell graduated from Fisher College. She has held supportive and service-oriented positions in public and private school systems. Doreen handles inquiries and scheduling to ensure that our program runs smoothly. She understands that it can be hard to make that first call and is easy to talk to. Doreen will help you get an answer to your question if you can’t reach your therapist directly.
